In Loving Memory of Tori Dawn Akrie
Tori Dawn Akrie was born on April 29, 1990, and went to her eternal rest on Sunday, June 21, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence David Akrie, Jr. and Aleta Dawn Akrie.
Tori attended school in the Penn Hills School District, where she participated in track and field and played volleyball. Following graduation, she worked in landscaping until illness prevented her from continuing.
Tori was beautiful inside and out. Her favorite color was yellow, and it seems fitting that she was called home to be with the Lord on the first day of summer. Yellow represents the sunshine, and Tori was truly a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She was full of life, warmth, and love, and she touched countless hearts throughout her journey.
Fifteen years ago, Tori received her greatest blessings, her beloved children, Zechariah and Zari. They were the center of her world and brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Tori was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence David Akrie, Jr.; her brothers, Timothy and Terrence; and her sister, Shana.
She leaves to cherish her memory her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Ann McFall; her mother, Aleta Dawn Akrie; her brother, Sion (Jaime) and their daughter, Amaya; her children, Zechariah and Zari; her brother, Lawrence Akrie III and his children, Iesha, Brandon, Merridith, Lawrence IV, Stasha, Sierra, Shakyria, Davonne, and Erica; her sister, Michelle and her children, Steven and Delishia; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her favorite cousin, sister, and best friend, Jade Turner, whose bond with Tori was built since childhood on unwavering love, laughter, support, and friendship. Their special connection was a treasured part of Tori's life and will forever be remembered.
After enduring a difficult year of illness, Tori is now free from pain and suffering. Her strength, courage, and faith carried her through every challenge she faced.
As Scripture reminds us:
"She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to her on that Day, and not to her only but also to all who have loved His appearing."
2 Timothy 4:7–8
Though our hearts grieve her absence, we rejoice in knowing that Tori is at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her light, love, and memory will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
