On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Richard Hart, age 75, passed away peacefully. He was the beloved son of the late Richard Martin and Mildred Anne (Jones) Hart. Rick is survived by his loving family; Henry (Diane) Hart, Robert (Hart), Colleen (of the late Scott) Jewell, Christine (Ralph) Blakeley, Daniel (Danielle) Hart, and many nieces and nephews.
Rick grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh and attended Perry High School. He worked as a messenger for Tristate Blueprinting for 35 years. One of the highlights of his life was taking a trip to the Grand Canyon with his brother, Henry. Some of Rick’s favorite’s were watching the Steelers, Pirates, and classic tv shows. He enjoyed family trips to the River’s Casino and Burger King, trivia, and family gatherings. Lastly, his love for dogs. Especially his dog Cody and all the pet therapy days at the Home.
Rick spent his final years of his earthly life at the Little Sisters of the Poor Home on the North Side, where he was well loved by the little sisters, residents and staff. He enjoyed bingo, painting and going on bus outings with his friends from the Home. Rick had a charming personality that left a lasting impression on all. He loved a good joke and had a contagious laugh that brought others into a special moment of joy with him. Rick never complained about his health or difficulties, and he was a good example of someone who was always grateful, even for the littlest services provided for him. At the Home, Rick was well cared for by his family but especially his sister and nurse Christine; through her dedicated presence, Rick knew he was loved in his final days. Rick’s family is extremely thankful for the excellent care that was provided from the Sisters, staff, and volunteers from the Home.
Family will receive visitors Wednesday, 2-7 PM at Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30AM at the Little Sisters of the Poor Home Chapel.
