Regina W. (Wespy) Schepis

Regina "Jean" (Wespy) Schepis, 89, died Saturday, June 20, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Domenick Schepis and the late Robert Rindfuss; sister of the late Madge Schwartz; loving mother of the late William, James (Barbara) Rindfuss, and Thomas (Janice) Rindfuss; stepmother of the late Joe Andrews, Virginia (Tom) Rizzo, Domenick (Sherry) Schepis, and Theresa Barbera; also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many dear friends.

Jean was born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, raised a family in Avalon, and in later years resided in Ross Township before returning to Avalon.  For years Jean worked at the Hallmark card store in Bellevue, but was most proud of her more than 50 years and over 24,000 hours of devoted volunteer work for the Junior Women’s Auxiliary of Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue.

Friends received from 3-7 PM Wednesday, June 24 at O'BRIEN'S, 3724 California at Cooper Aves. (please practice COVID-19 mask and social distancing recommendations), N.S. Funeral Mass at 10 AM Thursday, June 25 in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bellevue, 45 N. Sprague Avenue. Private interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the many dedicated caretakers for the compassionate care that Jean received during the past few months.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Jean's name to Hope Hospice (hopehospicepgh.org)  and UPMC Senior Communities.
