Marsha DeFazio, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old. Marsha was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, John DeFazio. A devoted mother, Marsha is survived by her children: Carol (Billy) DeFazio, Greg (Janine) DeFazio, Heather (Alex) Manzonelli of Arizona, Taira (Erin) Griffith of California, Skyler (Bryan) Smetanka, and Ashley (Ron) Blasko. She was a proud grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of seven. She is also survived by her siblings: Mark (Carol) Vincent, Leslie (Adolfo) Matos, and Ed (Sue) Vincent.
In her final years, she was lovingly cared for by her dedicated caregiver, GiGi Saco. Affectionately known as “Mad Marsha,” she will be remembered for her bold sense of style, infectious spirit, and love of adventure—especially when it involved shopping or dessert. Marsha was truly one in a million and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, August 7th, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 3724 California Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Interment will take place on Friday at Saint Anthony’s Cemetery. Please meet at O’Brien’s Funeral Home at 9:00 AM for the funeral procession.
