It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce that the world lost one of its sweetest, most gentle souls when Lindy was spirited away from us on Friday the 6th of September 2024.
He was born on May 12, 1989, in Pittsburgh, PA. Much loved son of Linda K. (Critchfield) Landers and the late Richard E. Landers. Beloved brother to Alisa Landers.
While outwardly quiet, Lindy exuded kindness and found great joy in making the people around him happy, always selflessly putting others before himself. He provided light and warmth to the small circle of family and friends who were lucky enough to know and love his gentle nature, sense of humor and wit. Lindy enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, watching anime and playing video games such as Second Life, where he was a friend and confidant to many.
He was admired for his abundant creativity, inspiring and never ceasing to amaze all who saw his work. He was an incredible self-taught artist, mastering his skills in 3D modeling and sculpting. Known for his creative problem-solving, he was always able to think of solutions no one else did and would jokingly say “It’s not stupid if it works!”.
Starting as a temporary intern at Matthews International, Lindy worked his way up from an entry-level position to getting in on the ground floor of the company’s new 3D modeling department. He made remarkable contributions to the development of their processes. Most recently, he was hired for a contracting position to create sculpted clay portraits for memorialization.
There will be a celebration of Lindy’s life at O’Brien’s Funeral Home at 3724 California Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 on Saturday, September 14th from 5-7 pm.
From your family and friends, Lindy, thank you for the smiles, good times and infectious laughter. We hope you have found the peace, love and strength that you shared with us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the AFSP.
