Age 85, of Brighton Heights, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Beloved Wife of Joseph Joyce, Jr,. Daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred (Boch) Monahan. Beloved Mother of Michael Colville (Mimi), Robert Colville (Kate), Molly Colville, Kelly Monk (Dan), Karla Joyce (John), and the late Meghan Joyce Bosh. Sister of Mary Ingram and James Monahan. Grandmother of Michael, Caroline, Robert, Annie, Tyler, Trevor, Amanda, Hannah, Evan, Emma, Devin and Joseph, Great- Grandmother of Theodore and Marceline. She is preceded by two unnamed infant angels with whom she is now reunited. Attended St. Joe's (Manchester), St. Benedict's, and attained undergraduate and Masters degrees in Social Work at Pitt. Much of her clinical social work career practice was at UPMC (Mercy, St. Margaret's, Presby) in the early days of liver and kidney transplant. She later worked in advocacy of HIV and AIDS patients with Stadtlander's Pharmacy. In retirement, she led the Cancer Caring Center brain tumor support group. She walked hand in hand with patients and their families as they journeyed the unknowns. Judy will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who loved her as she loved them, “to her bones” and “to the moon and back.” Family will receive visitors Tuesday 2/11/25, 3-7PM at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 3724 California Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Funeral Mass Wednesday 2/12/25, 10AM at Christ Our Savior Parish – St. Cyril of Alexandria Church. Interment to follow at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
