John M. Howarth

Age 95, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA in Lake Placid, FL. on Monday, September 13, 2021. Husband of the late Harriet (Moore) Howarth. Loving Father of Jacquelyn A. (Harry) Fruck of MI., Karla M. (Jerry) Henwood of MD. and Philip J. Howarth of Pittsburgh. Grandfather of Greg Sheldon, Jessica Henwood, Mike Sheldon, David Henwood, Sarah Fruck and the late Danny Henwood. Brother of Mary Alice Rymniak, Thomas Howarth, Theresa (the late John) Kellerman and the late Betty Mann, Fran (surviving spouse Joseph) Quaquarucci, Joseph Howarth and Margaret Weaver. Survived also by six great grandchildren. John was a proud retiree of the United States Coast Guard as a CWO-4 and served over 30 years in the military. His service time included two years in the United States Navy during WWII and in the Coast Guard from 1947 until his retirement in 1974, serving during the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict eras. Family will receive visitors Thursday 3-7PM at O’Brien’s 3724 California at Cooper Aves., N.S. Funeral Mass at Church of the Assumption, 45 N. Sprague Avenue, Bellevue, Friday, 10AM. Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, time and date to be determined.
