John DeFazio Obituary

On Friday February 26, 2021.

Beloved Husband of Marsha M. DeFazio (Vincent). Loving Father of Carol (Billy) DeFazio, Greg J. (Janine) DeFazio, Heather M. (Alex) Manzonelli of AZ., Taira D. (Erin) Griffith of CA., Skyler R. (Bryan) Smetanka and Ashley A. (Ron) Blasko. Proud grandfather of 8 and great-grandfather of 4. Brother of Peter R. “Pete” (Anita) DeFazio.

John “Jumpin Johnny” DeFazio, originally from Mt. Washington, died from cancer peacefully at home surrounded by his entire family including his puppy Apollo.

John is survived by Marsha, his wife of almost 50 years. They loved socializing, especially a night of dancing. John and Marsha were inseparable.

John was a dedicated hard-working family man. First and foremost, he was a wonderful husband and father. He was happiest surrounded by family and friends, telling stories and laughing. His career accomplishment highlights included professional wrestler, Director of the United Steelworkers (USW), and President of Allegheny County council.

He cherished his roles as big-brother to Pete and life-long best friend to Bucko.
