John J. Cook

Age 49, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from complications of diabetes. 

John was a dedicated family man who is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nichole, his children Eleanor (Emmy), Odessa (Geoff) Taylor, Izabelle, stepdaughter Cole (Em) Hadley and Grandson Dre Hadley. 

John graduated from Oliver High School, and shortly after joined the US Navy. Just short of 10 years of service, John retired from the Navy to devote his time to his family. During his career, he worked for 16 years at PITT OHIO. 

There will be a celebration of John’s life, Thursday, 4-6PM at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 3724 California at Cooper Aves., N.S. 

The family asks for donations to be made in John’s name to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington VA 22202 and to the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, VA Center for Development and Civic Engagement (118V-A) 1010 Delafield Road Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
