Janet V. (Gilman) Carter

Janet V. Gilman Carter, of Darlington, PA , formerly of Murrysville, PA, was called home to be with her Lord on August 21, 2019 at 90 years old. Janet was born in Manchester, NH. to Althea and Ernest Gilman, March 1929. She married her sweetheart, Melvin P. Carter, September 1952 and raised three children together. Janet was an active servant of Jesus to her church and community. She was known for her love of family and friends. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Wayne R. and Warren D. Carter. She is survived by daughter Valerie J. McCormick and blessed with seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Focus on the Family, 8605 Explorer Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80920. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Old William Penn Hwy. Murrysville, PA 15668 and 3 PM at the Chippewa Alliance Church, 37th Street Ext. Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
