Gary Lee Black

Gary L. Black, age 65, passed away unexpectedly    and sadly on August 3.   Gary was born on Oct 7, 1959 in Huntingdon, Pa, the first born of Ralph Gribble and Geneva Black.  He was a 1978 graduate of Ambridge Area High School and resided in Ambridge almost 50 years before moving to Leetsdale in 2009. Gary was a 40 year employee of Giant Eagle, Quaker Village, Leetsdale, before his retirement in November 2024. 

He loved meeting and interacting with so many people there throughout the years and was a very proud employee. Throughout his life no matter how many challenges he faced, and often faced alone, he remained an eternal optimist. Gary was a kind, inquisitive, appreciative man and had a pure heart that will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Margaret and Ralph. He is survived by his sister Amy, sister Susan, a niece, several nephews, aunts, and cousins.  

There will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to O’Brien’s Funeral Home 3724 California Ave, Pittsburgh Pa 15212.  Condolences to the family may be sent in c/o O’Briens.
