On March 26, 2025, Garrett J. Duty of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away as the result of a massive stroke at the age of 57. Beloved husband of Patricia Suchma Duty; devoted father of Olivia, Morgan and Michael Duty; cherished son of Nancy and the late Bill Duty; loving brother of Katy (Rich) Greenberg, Rebecca Freyvogel and Robb (Beth) Duty. He is also survived by many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many friends. Garrett was known for his great sense of humor, love of history, music, and remembering the funniest lines from every movie he ever saw. Garrett was whip smart, sometimes too smart for his own good, and could talk to you about almost anything whether it be current events, sports, politics or just how proud he was of his amazing three children. Garrett had a generous heart and would give anyone he loved the shirt off his back. Garrett’s final gift and wish was to be an organ donor. He will forever be a hero to so many people in need of a lifesaving transplant and his kindness will live on in the lives of others. He was honored by the ICU hospital staff and transplant team at Presbyterian Hospital with a Hero’s Send-off that his family will never forget.
