With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Faye Jacobs, a beloved mother, grandmother, and GG. Faye passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 4, 2024, in her hometown of Pittsburgh.
Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry, and her cherished children Barbara (surviving spouse Charles) Jeletic, Lou Ann Rieg, and Michael (surviving spouse Beth) Smith. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she often spoke of them with fondness and love in her eyes. Faye is survived by her loving daughters, Theresa Thomas and Faye Richardson, and her sons, Ronald (Val) and Albert Smith (Ginny). She was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren. Her legacy continues through her 20 great-grandchildren, each carrying forward a piece of her enduring spirit. They will always love and remember their GG.
Faye enjoyed spending summers with her family and sisters at their camp in Evan’s City where many laughs and lasting memories were made. Faye was an avid fisherman, farming her own worms and teaching her grandchildren how to bait a line. Faye loved crafting and creating lasting momentos for her children and grandchildren to have and keep near to their hearts. Faye spent many nights at the casino trying her luck at winning the Jackpot. She was a waitress at Retzer-Hyde for almost 30 years.
Faye Jacobs will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of Faye’s life will be held at O’Brien’s Funeral Home on Monday September 9th 1-3 and 5-7.
