Ellen Langel Mackowiak, born May 4, 1944, in Pennsylvania to Rose Laurito and Charles Langel, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born at 3:50 a.m., Ellen grew up alongside her beloved siblings Rosa, Patsey, William (“Billy”), and Rinda. She devoted her life to caring for others, working as a nurse with great compassion and dedication. Through her career, Ellen touched countless lives and looked after many generations of both patients and family.
She leaves behind her son, Michael Mackowiak, her grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Amber Brown, Kristen Brown, Liam Mackowiak, and Roman Mackowiak; her great-grandchildren, Ka’mya Brown and Kayden Nalls; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is joyfully reunited with her daughter, Robin Brown, and her brothers Chucky and Johnny
Ellen lived a full and prosperous life, rich with love, service, and devotion. She will be remembered for her kindness, her steady strength, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy continues in the many lives she touched and the family she so deeply cherished.
Family will receive visitors Saturday, September 6 from 1-3PM at O’Brien’s 3724 California at Cooper Aves.
