David Robert Gibson

Age 76, passed away peacefully March 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sheila A. Gibson. Son of the late Robert D. and Ruth A. (Roxbury) Gibson formerly of the North Side. Survived by daughter Tracy (Michael) Aubrecht. Grandfather of Dylan (Emily) Aubrecht, Madison (Travis) Taylor, Kierstyn Aubrecht and Jackson Aubrecht. Great-Grandfather of Eli Taylor. Brother of Kenneth (Nesa), and late Donald R. (Surviving Spouse Kathy) Gibson. Uncle of Jennifer (Christopher) Tusick, Kyle and Delaney Gibson. Great Uncle of Noah, Benjamin and Olivia.

David was a Vietnam Veteran, serving as a Seaman apprentice on the USS Blue, DD-744. He was a retired PIAA official and an avid sports enthusiast. David was a graduate of Oliver High School. 

David’s viewing will be Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 1-8PM at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 3724 California Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15212 where there will be a Blessing Service Friday at 10:00AM. A private burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
