Age 76 of Brighton Heights, North Side on Monday, April 13, 2026, David M. Cammarata passed away. Beloved son of Michael F. and Rose A. (Perry) Cammarata. Loving husband of 50 years to Grace J. (Bezilla) Cammarata whom he met at a dance at the Sarah Heinz House. Cherished brother-in-law of George A. (Aloha) Bezilla, Michael A. (Karen) Bezilla, and the late Richard Bezilla (survived by Donna). Survived also by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; Godfather of Karlin, Michael John and Lex; Oldest special friend, Chuck Deily. He is also survived by his furry companions, Wylie and Rocky, who brought him much comfort and happiness.
David was humble man who never sought the limelight. He found many joys in life, with the many friendships he formed across the years. David was strong in his beliefs and gave service to help others. Later in life, he just wanted to be at home and keep his surroundings clean, he always said it his exercise and his way of socializing with others in the neighborhood. He was a swimming instructor, loved his water sports, showing his Corvette, auto racing, his T-Type Buick “Mr. Boost” and travels especially to visit family in Hawaii. He had many talents including playing the piano by ear. David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 3–7 PM at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 3724 California Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Cyril of Alexandria Church, Christ Our Savior Parish. Interment will follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15212 or St. Cyril Food Pantry.
