Brigid L. (O’Brien) Nawrocki

Brigid L. (O’Brien) Nawrocki, affectionately known to many as BB, age 82, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Cranberry Twp. and DuBois, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, in Cape Coral Hospital after a brief illness.

Born December 29, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Kathleen (Phillips) O’Brien.

Brigid graduated in 1961, from Mount Mercy Academy in Pittsburgh, PA, and went on to Duquesne University where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education.

She spent most of her teaching career as a high school teacher at Quaker Valley High School in Leetsdale, PA, where she taught English and in later years English as a Second Language, retiring after thirty plus years of teaching.

BB was an inveterate shopper, who loved to find a deal. She not only shopped at traditional stores but also loved to go to antique shops, flea markets or auctions, where she would look for antique furniture that she would refinish and use in her home. She had an impeccable taste for clothing and never left the house unless her hair and make-up were done perfectly. In her later years when she retired to her home in Florida, she liked taking care of her many plants and shrub’s and making sure her Purple Martin house was cleaned out and ready for the birds to return each year. She had a passion for reading and belonged to a book club in Cape Coral. She also enjoyed, sewing, going out to shows and concerts and dining out with friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Harry E. Nawrocki Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, her three children, Amy Nawrocki, of Cape Coral FL. Cris Nawrocki and his wife Lynn, of Sharon PA, and Eireann Erdner and her husband David, of Matlacha, ,FL, two sisters, Maureen McCormick and her husband David, of Gulfport, FL, and Mary Ellen Wright and her husband David, of Topeka, KS, and a brother Terry O’Brien and his wife Karen of New Hill NC, nine grandchildren, Bridey (Matthew) Clevenger, Devin Kearns, Tierney(John) Grant, Nick, Derek and Logan (Kaitlyn) Nawrocki, Caleb (Payton Bray) Erdner, Hannah Erdner (Edgardo Rodriguez), Kyle (Mackenzie) Erdner, one great-grandson Easton and one on the way.

Preceding her in death was her brother, William O’Brien Jr., Bernard M. (Surviving Spouse Debra) O’Brien and Sister Kathleen (the late Michael) Zahorchak.

There is no visitation or services at this time, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
