Anna Marie Monier, 89, of Upper St Clair, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Sunday Jan 5, 2025.
Anna was a skilled seamstress and sewed dresses of her own design. Many of those dresses could be seen at West View Park Danceland, where she met her future husband, E.A. Gus Monier. Anna and Gus loved to dance and continued throughout their 35 year marriage.
In addition, Anna was a talented painter and particularly enjoyed watercolors. She happily nurtured her granddaughters’ artistic endeavors. Anna also enjoyed playing the piano, read voraciously, and loved to attend the theater. Anna avidly followed politics, much to her children’s chagrin.
Anna was proceeded in death by her husband Gus and her sister Nancy Leuzinger. In addition to her sister, Joan Wagner, Anna is survived by her children, Mark (Sandra), Karen Monier (Bill Tyler), Colette Monier-Coughlin (Charlie Coughlin), and Eric (Mobeen Shirazi); Grandma to Kaitlin Monier (Danny Jackson), Dillon Monier (Rebecca), Kristen Monier, Robert Tyler (Keri), Anna Thomas (Brian), and Emily Tyler; GiGi to Audrey, Matthew and Elyse, and Louise.
Family and friends received Friday, 3-7PM at O’Brien’s Funeral Home, 3724 California Ave, Pittsburgh. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday 11am at Sacred Heart Church-Regina Coeli Parish, 154 Orchard Ave, Emsworth. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
